JAZZHEAD SUNDAYS: FEATURING NICK BATTERHAM DUO

We are thrilled to announce another in our free Jazzhead Sundays series: weekly afternoon sessions of glorious music at Lady Grange in St Kilda. We will be presenting a variety of artists from the Jazzhead and Head Records labels at this weekly event. Including any interstate guests who might happen to be in town!

Our next act will be Nick Matterham performing as a duo this Sunday 9 November.

This event will preview the debut album from Nick Batterham, Second Lovers.

Singer-songwriter Batterham has produced an exquisite album of acoustic folk sounds, mingling at times with power driven rock. With its lush production, many moments immerse you in a blissful soundscape while never losing sight of its emotional heart.

Nick Batterham is no newcomer to the music scene, he has found his musical way via integral groups and projects, such as singer-songwriter in Blindside (single of the week in UK Spin Magazine), supporting acts like Smashing Pumpkins. Toured the USA and UK in ’94 with The Earthmen playing a bunch of supports (INXS, Buffalo Tom, Lemonheads, Teenage Fanclub), their debut album received 5-star reviews and an ARIA nomination for Best Debut Album in ‘97.

As well as writing, performing and producing his own music Nick also plays guitar in Cordrazine, producing their latest album, amongst others and works in film sound design (2009 AFI Award nominee).
